Accounting & Finance, Financial Reporting, Bookkeeper/ Accounting Clerk, Accounts Receivable/ Collections
The Accounting Assistant handles the day-to-day transaction work for the firm's accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial record-keeping. Today that is a high-volume, hands-on job: deposits, trust checks, bill pay, card coding, and reconciliations, roughly 3,200 items a month. The firm is putting technology and AI to work on the repetitive parts of that job, so this role will shift from keying transactions to reviewing, correcting, and improving what the tools produce.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal environment, plus a willingness to learn new software and work alongside AI tools.
- Handle daily accounting activities including accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Operating LOC, Case Expense LOC, Operating Cash, and Trust balance. - Process invoices, payments, and expense reports, including the Monday Bill Pay run (about 80 bills a week) split between case and operating costs, and the Friday Bill Pay summary for the weekly cash flow report.
- Prepare trust account checks on the Monday, Wednesday, Friday cycle (about 266 a month).
- Code every firm credit card transaction as either an operating expense or an advanced client cost. Today this is done by hand from printed statements.

- Support the month-end close and the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Assist with employee expense reimbursements.
- Maintain and update accounting databases and spreadsheets, including the settlement sheets and case-level advanced client cost detail.
