SummaryResponsible for evaluating patient/family financial and insurance status. Determine if patient/family would likely qualify for Medicaid/ALLKids and assists family with completion of applications. Serves as person of contact for self pay families as well as various departments within COA. Assists families through the financial assistance process from application to approval; reviews all applications; approval process and notification to families and Business Office.

The Children’s of Alabama Business Office scope of responsibilities can vary depending on the needs from the hospital departments and guarantors that we service. The Business Office collects data from our departments, payers, and other administrative staff to ensure our financial goals are met based on guidelines, policies, and procedures that are in place. It includes overseeing all aspects of the guarantors’ charges and maintaining a relationship to help provide them the information they need to clear their outstanding balances.
The Business Office is the center hub for maintaining relationships for the operational needs of our hospital.
