Job Summary

The Junior Buyer supports the purchasing team in sourcing, ordering, and maintaining inventory, and plays a key role in ensuring the right products are available at the right time to meet our customer’s needs. This position will report to the VP of Merchandising.

Responsibilities
  • Create and issue purchase orders based on inventory levels, forecasting, or sales trends
  • Track order status, shipments, and delivery schedules
  • Assist in resolving shipment errors, delays, or invoice discrepancies
  • Support Senior Buyers in identifying cost‑saving or consolidation opportunities
  • Establish and maintain record‑keeping system for merchandising department
  • Monitor inventory reports to maintain appropriate levels
  • Update purchasing and product information within the company’s system
  • Communicate upcoming shortages, backorders, or discontinued items to relevant departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications/Skills
  • 2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or procurement within a distribution environment preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
  • Good understanding of purchasing processes and inventory management fundamentals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment and meet
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and order tracking
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office; strong skills in Excel required
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally
