Overview
Allworld Project Management (AWPM) is an Engineering & Construction Project Management Firm seeking a Construction Inspector. This position is part-time onsite in Tuscaloosa, AL at the various project locations.
Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $29.00/hr allworld Project Management (AWPM) is based in Downtown Memphis, TN, with offices in Houston, TX and Birmingham, AL. This role is onsite in Tuscaloosa, AL.

The Field and Construction Inspector is responsible for inspecting the work of contractors performing construction to ensure the work complies with contract documents and specifications. This position is onsite in Tuscaloosa, AL at various construction locations.
Essential Functions- Inspect and document the work performed by contractors to ensure compliance with contract specifications
- Coordinate activities to resolve access issues that inhibit contractor performance
- Investigate critical incidences to gather field information and address the issue
- Follow up and ensure incidences are resolved
- Review CCTV video of lines assessed by contractors to ensure quality control and provide recommendations on repair, rehabilitation, and maintenance
- Oversee inspection of all work performed by contractors according to specifications and drawings
- Verify contractor compliance with codes, regulations, site materials, and specifications
- Maintain inspection records
- Recommend remedial corrective actions
- Prepare detailed documentation of construction progress and inspection; prepare various reports on daily operations and activities
- Education:
GED or High School Diploma required;
Associate degree preferred with knowledge of construction practices, materials, and equipment - Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel - Experience:
Experience in installation, rehabilitation, and repair of sanitary sewers and/or operation and maintenance of sanitary sewer systems; ability to read and interpret engineering construction plans, maps, and specifications
- Basic understanding of construction principles and standard building practices
- Ability to assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands
- Commitment to safety operations and standards
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Ability to read, interpret, understand and apply standards, procedures, and applicable federal rules
- Typically works at a construction site, outdoors in all weather conditions
- Requires standing for long periods and may involve heavy manual labor; ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, stoop, reach, lift, push, pull, and carry items
