Mechanical Construction Manager – (Data Centers)
Join Jacobs as a Mechanical Construction Manager – (Data Centers) and lead the design, engineering, and execution of state‑of‑the‑art data center facilities. Your role focuses on daily scheduling, resource coordination, safety compliance, and team development.
Base pay range: $/yr – $/yr
Responsibilities- Conduct project meetings with contractor and stakeholders.
- Maintain official project documentation files and logs.
- Perform onsite activities, including inspections, walkdowns, and construction or field administration tasks.
- Review submittals, shop drawings, material certifications, and other project deliverables to support the final turnover process.
- Ensure all construction complies with design specifications and drawings.
- Support the project management team in change management and monthly invoicing processes.
- Track work-in-place and construction progress.
- Coordinate and manage daily tasks to support the project schedule and accurate reporting.
- Build a cooperative partnership between the client, contractor, and all stakeholders to resolve issues timely and ensure overall project success.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction, or Engineering.
- At least 8 years of construction site experience.
- Working knowledge of pre‑design and pre‑construction, building systems/components, contract management, project delivery methods, team building, and client relationships.
- Knowledge of general construction activity sequencing and execution.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical and Plumbing systems and associated equipment.
- Experience with 3D modeling software and physical presence on active construction projects.
- Experience managing a project schedule.
- Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing/reporting.
- Experience with both pre‑dynamic and dynamic walkdown and startup processes.
- Knowledge of the commissioning and qualification process for MEP systems.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Data center construction experience.
- Knowledge and experience in Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and Process Controls such as Delta
V. - Experience with equipment and system startup and day‑to‑day system management until project turnover.
- Implementation of LEAN strategies and technologies, including the Last Planner System (LPS), 5S Construction, and off‑site manufacturing (OSM).
