Construction Inspector - Aviation

$60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr
Duties / Responsibilities- Provides construction management services on multiple or complex projects at an international airport facility.
- Provides ongoing construction inspection, quality assurance and performs specialty inspections.
- Reviews contractor’s work, inspects delivered materials and verifies certifications.
- Ensures compliance with approved construction documents, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Records daily observations and reports non‑compliance.
- Coordinates and verifies field testing of materials.
- Reviews and approves pay applications.
- Reviews contractor quality control and safety manuals and procedures.
- Performs daily safety inspections.
- Reviews construction plans and specifications.
- Reviews contractor submittals for constructability and compliance.
This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently.
Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required.
Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.
Education / Experience- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 8 years of construction inspection experience.
- Associate degree (two‑year) or Technical Training degree (two years) in construction management, engineering, or related field, with 6 years’ experience in construction inspection.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience.
- 8+ years of experience in construction inspection, construction materials testing, and/or observation in the transportation field.
- State certifications in Materials Testing preferred, along with safety certifications.
- Experience with airport construction projects.
