Knight Eady, a Birmingham, Alabama-based sports marketing and event management company, is seeking applicants for a Creative Director, Design to join the Knight Eady staff on the creative team. This role will be based onsite in our Birmingham office.
The Creative Director, Design will lead the creative vision and execution for the Agency Services division, with a strong emphasis on graphic design, branding projects, and website design. This role oversees the design team and collaborates closely with the VP, Agency Services and Director, Accounts & Project Management to deliver innovative, high-quality creative that drives results for both client work and the agency’s owned events.

HOWYOU’LL MAKE IMPACT
The Creative Director, Design will impact the full suite of Knight Eady clients and events by leading the efficient design of compelling visual assets across branding, marketing campaigns, web design, proposals, and mockups (including visualization of spatial concepts). Additional responsibilities include the creation of social media graphics, print materials, and layouts to bring campaigns to life across all platforms. This role also requires the ability to confidently pitch ideas and creative direction, ensuring that design solutions not only look great but also resonate with audiences and support strategic goals.
- Lead the development and execution of creative concepts across branding, rebrands, campaigns, and event design.
- Oversee the design team, providing direction, mentorship, and constructive feedback to elevate the quality and consistency of creative work.
- Act as the agency’s lead in branding initiatives, from concept development through execution of visual identity systems.
- Guide rebrand projects, including discovery, visual storytelling, logo design, and rollout of brand assets.
- Develop mockups and visualization concepts for signage, activations, environments, and other experiential design elements to help bring ideas to life.
- Lead website design projects, collaborating with developers or leveraging platforms like Webflow to design, build, launch, and maintain sites that align with client and agency goals.
- Collaborate with the strategy team to translate strategic insights into compelling creative solutions.
- Partner with Accounts & Project Management to ensure projects are delivered on time, on brand, and on budget.
- Work with full-time and freelance designers, photographers, and videographers to extend creative concepts into digital, video, and experiential formats.
- Mentor and develop younger designers, fostering growth in design skills, professional development, and creative confidence.
- Present creative concepts and design recommendations to clients with clarity and confidence.
- Play an active role in new business development by contributing to and pitching creative concepts to prospective clients.
- Maintain a deep understanding of design trends, tools, and best practices, ensuring the agency remains innovative and competitive.
- Oversee quality control for all creative deliverables, ensuring brand integrity and excellence.
- 3-7+ years of experience in graphic design and creative leadership, preferably in an agency, sports, or event marketing environment.
- Strong portfolio showcasing branding, rebrand, and campaign design work.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and related design tools.
