Pediatric Radiology Associates, P.C. a Pediatric Radiology group based at Children’s of Alabama in Birmingham, is seeking an additional radiologist to join our group.
Children’s of Alabama is one of the largest free standing Children’s Hospitals in the United States. We currently have 332 approved beds in our beautiful State of the Art Hospital located adjacent to the University of Alabama, Birmingham Campus and Medical Center. We also have a large Outpatient facility located just south of the city. The Hospital currently has 3 (one 3 Tesla, two 1.5 Tesla) MRI units with an additional 3 Tesla unit being added this fall, 4 CT scanners (including one 256 slice and two 64 slice, one 16 slice) units, state of the art 3D lab, 6 ultrasound units, 2 nuclear medicine units including PET/CT, 5 DR units in the diagnostic section, interventional suite, and fully operational PACS.
Our group was established in the 1970’s, we are all fellowship trained, and practice only pediatric radiology. You will have the opportunity to work in an experienced group that embraces teamwork and collaboration. In this position, you will be doing pediatric body imaging, radiographs, nuclear medicine, and fluoroscopy. There will be no neuro radiology required and the only interventional procedures would be a TP tube or GI tube replacement.
Your academic rank will be from The University of Alabama at Birmingham based on your qualification and experience.
We teach, train, and have the support of radiology residents at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Baptist/Brookwood Health System. We have an ACGME Accredited Pediatric Radiology fellowship program. If you are research oriented, there are ample opportunities and support for Research collaboration at Children’s of Alabama and at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
We have the ability to sponsor J1 and H1b visas. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package. The call and vacation is equally distributed. We have approximately 1:9 weekend call. There is an attractive amount of vacation time, currently 12 weeks.
