Labcorp is seeking a Surgical Pathologist/Cytopathologist to join our team in Birmingham, AL.
Work Schedule:
Generally (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)
Job Responsibilities Individual diagnostic evaluation and sign-out of surgical pathology and cytology cases, including a high volume of Gynecologic pathology specimens.
Assure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standards
Accurate and timely evaluation of specimens tested
Assures good laboratory practice (GLP) and compliance with applicable accrediting and regulatory agencies
Provide expert consultation as needed with clients and staff, in person, by phone or electronically
Minimum Qualifications Medical Degree from an accredited college/universityAL & GA Licensed Physician Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Eligible to obtain LA, MS, TN & FL state medical licenses
Additional Job Standards Experience in a high-volume hospital and/or large referral laboratory environment preferred
Subspecialty Board Certification in Cytopathology is highly desired
Experience in gynecologic pathology is highly desired
Subspecialty training in Surgical Pathology is highly desired
Subspecialty training or experience in ENT, Breast or Gastointestinal Pathology Organized and efficient problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
