Overview

Samford University’s Brock School of Business invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to apply for an Assistant Professor of Finance faculty position within the Economics, Finance & Quantitative Analysis Department. This tenure‑track, nine‑month appointment begins August 17, 2026.

Brock School of Business is located in a 75,000‑square‑foot Cooney Hall on a state‑of‑the‑art campus that provides excellent space for faculty to interact with students, colleagues and the regional business community. The School is accredited by AACSB International and hosts 1,285 students in undergraduate, M.Acc. and M.B.A. programs. Responsibilities

Applicants must exhibit strong teaching skills and be committed to maintaining an ongoing research effort. Normal teaching load is 3 courses per semester, with research expectations reasonable and commensurate with that load. Summer teaching and competitive research grants are also available. A commitment to academic excellence and the ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, students, and colleagues is expected.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates hold an earned doctorate from an AACSB‑accredited institution in Finance, and preferably have teaching experience or interests in a variety of finance courses. ABDs near completion will be considered. Preference is given to candidates with demonstrated skills, abilities, or experience in teaching. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship will not be provided.
