Patient & Family Instructor/Educator – Hill Crest Behavioral Health Services

Location:

Birmingham, AL.

Hours:

Part‑time weekends (Saturdays). This position conducts patient and family education groups and performs related duties.

• Conduct specialized patient and family education groups.
• Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development for the population served and provide education accordingly.
• Attend all scheduled sessions, including an 8‑day orientation from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. without interruptions.
• Participate in the Master Treatment Plan and work with nursing staff to address patient needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in progress notes.
• Assist colleagues and follow hospital policy on conduct.

• Experience working with emotionally disturbed patients in inpatient or outpatient settings.
• Knowledge of group leadership and ability to tailor education to patients and families.
• Active pursuit of a certification (AL):
  Licensed Professional Counselor or Certified Counseling Associate is a plus.
• Reliable availability for weekends and orientation.
