Position Summary
Job OverviewLawson State Community College is accepting applications for part-time/adjunct faculty to teach all subjects at the freshman and sophomore levels. Applicants will be hired as needed and will remain in an applicant pool for 36 months.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver instruction for credited academic and technical courses at the freshman and sophomore levels.
- Adhere to all learning management system requirements (Blackboard), posting syllabi, announcements, calendars, assignments, and test dates.
- Supplement lectures and demonstrations with multimedia materials and demonstrate safe use of equipment.
- Maintain an environment conducive to learning and supervise students, maintaining discipline in class, lab, and shop.
- Develop laboratory projects that relate theory to practical application through assignments and administer written and performance examinations.
- Record student progress systematically using progress charts and the learning management system.
- Communicate student progress to appropriate personnel and respond to student requests promptly (24‑48 hours).
- Maintain accurate attendance records, submit attendance reports on time, and follow the grading system.
- Assist students in submitting required documents for graduation.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree and 18 graduate semester hours (27 graduate quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.
- Current resume and official transcripts.
- Employment verification letters from a current or previous employer, on official letterhead with authorized signature.
- Adherence to FERPA regulations, ADA accommodation requirements, and institutional policies.
As needed basis; local salary schedule based on credentials. Not to exceed nine credit hours per semester.
