EMBEDDED ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONICS ENGINEER

Location: Birmingham, AL 35205

Employment Type: 6-month Contract-to-Hire

Compensation: Based on experience

Client: Local Research Organization

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the electrical design, development, manufacture, maintenance, sustainment, and operational support of embedded payload systems for space applications.
• Develop system-level documentation and electrical drawings for complex engineering hardware and devices.
• Support the design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
• Perform routine engineering design tasks using standard techniques.
• Assist senior engineers with plans, designs, computations, and project reports.
• Participate in meetings, teleconferences, and project-related travel as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Proficiency with engineering, documentation, and analysis software; MS Word and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Strong prioritization, organization, and documentation abilities.
• Process improvement and quality-focused mindset.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience developing electrical engineering solutions for embedded or integrated systems.
• Electrical/electronic fabrication and assembly experience.
• Experience supporting aerospace or mission-critical hardware.
• SPICE modeling and analysis for embedded systems design.
• Microcontroller programming or prototyping experience.
