We have an exciting opportunity for a Mid‑Level Water/Wastewater Project Manager to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. In this role, you’ll help lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater facilities, ranging from $1M to over $100M in construction value. With a strong backlog of water and wastewater treatment projects, you’ll have the chance to shape cutting‑edge solutions and grow your expertise in the technologies that matter most to you.

What

You’ll Do
  • Manage and support the planning and design of water and wastewater facilities, addressing challenges such as emerging contaminants and nutrient removal.
  • Oversee diverse projects in water treatment, wastewater treatment, conveyance, and modeling.
  • Serve as a primary client interface, leading workshops, facilitating discussions, and maintaining strong relationships to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Drive project coordination across disciplines and uphold quality standards throughout all design phases.
  • Mentor engineers and designers, fostering technical growth and collaborative team culture.
  • Contribute to technical strategies and design planning for project pursuits, leveraging client insights to shape innovative solutions.
Here’s what you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 7+ years of experience in detailed design and project management of water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and manage project delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, self‑motivation, and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Experience in construction and startup of water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Design experience with advanced wastewater processes.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and sustainability practices in water infrastructure.
