Structural Designer SR

Job Description: The SR Structural Designer 2 position requires 20+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience.

• Producing 3D models and design drawings for structural steel, reinforced concrete, and/or ductwork, preparing layouts and conceptual designs.
• Reviewing vendor shop fabrication drawings is a plus, preparing material take-offs and assist with cost estimates.
• Coordinating work with other disciplines, clients, and contractors, and performing site walk-downs for field verification and to address constructability.

• Proficient using AutoCAD, extensive 3D modelling and drawing creation experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Advance Steel is preferred, steel and concrete detailing background is strongly preferred.
• Good Technical writing skills must be able to produce clear, concise drawing notes, able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and/or vendors.
