Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm looking for an experienced Transmissions Analyst to fill a contract assignment in Birmingham, Alabama.

Job Title: Transmissions Analyst

Work Location: Birmingham, Alabama 35243

• Two‑year degree from a technical school/university with related work experience is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology may be preferred.

  In office Mon–Thurs with flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. Starting schedule will be 8AM‑5PM with potential to adjust as experience in role is gained.

• Facilitate Project Closeout processes in support of the Operating Company's transmission capital project program.
• Engage with various departments and organizations (Engineering, Supply Chain, Property Accounting, Project Management, Construction, and Compliance) to review and reconcile charges against the scope of work completed, closing out projects after service activation.
• Research and resolve variances between actuals and estimates.
• Close capital projects and track project closeout status.
• Provide business reports and maintain proper documentation.
• Develop and leverage customer‑focused relationships with stakeholders involved in transmission project design and construction.
• Perform data analysis to facilitate process improvements and best‑practice development.

• Familiarity with line design, construction, operation and/or maintenance.
• Working knowledge of materials used in transmission line construction.
• Understanding of line construction scope, equipment, materials and associated costs.

• Experience with TEAMS (Transmission Estimating and Management System), Maximo, Vault and/or Power Plan is a plus.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with ability to manage and analyze large sets of transaction data.

• Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues in various departments.
• Time management and organizational skills sufficient to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
• Effective communication skills.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not a Project Management or Project Controls related role. The analyst is responsible for reconciliation of project charges after construction completion and asset placement in service. The role requires analytical skills and utility knowledge (Transmission Lines) to resolve variances between actuals and estimates based on project scope.

Physical Requirements: This position may require bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, walking on gravel, or crawling when necessary.
