RESEARCH ENGINEER I
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a Research Engineer I to develop systems-level documents for complex engineering hardware and devices for the School of Engineering. The role involves design activities and preparation of Solid Edge or ProE drawings, and support of meetings, teleconferences and required trips.
Responsibilities- Assist in design, development, implementation and analysis of technical products and systems.
- Support meetings, teleconferences and travel as required by projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This position is assigned to Wage Grade W360 with a compensation-approved range of $57,940 (Min) - $94,150 (Max) (Midpoint $75,320).
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering and one (1) year of related experience required (preferred discipline Mechanical or Materials Engineering). Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
Minimal Knowledge / Skills / Abilities- Ability to use various engineering and documentation/analysis software, MS Word, and Excel.

US Citizens only. Reports to EITD Mechanical Engineering Section Lead. Assists in design, development, implementation and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs simple and routine engineering design tasks with standard techniques. Assists more senior engineers in preparation of plans, designs, computation methods and reports. Supports meetings, teleconferences, and travel as required by projects.
