We have an opportunity to join Siemens Mobility as a Lead Design Engineer
- Signalling working as an SSI (Westlock) Data Engineer in our Rail Infrastructure business where you will direct all activities of the teams to achieve the safe implementation of signalling projects to the customer’s specifications and timescales agreed. You will also check the quality of output from the relevant section is to the required standards and target dates are achieved.

You’ll make an impact by Leading the preparation of SSI (Westlock) technical documentation, signalling plans, estimates and working drawings within the project team, ensuring delivery of signalling works to programme and within approved budget constraints.

Carrying out (or working towards) independent checking of Signalling design as required in particular SSI (Westlock) data Ensuring the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work in order that successful project implementation and future reliability is achieved

Providing functional support and guidance to the Design Engineer(s) and others within the team on all aspects of Signal Design within allocated projects

Support forecasting manpower requirements for design work to enable allocation of resources to be made

Your success will be grounded by Engineering Degree/HND/HNC qualificationIRSE Signalling Principles Designer and Signalling Design Verifier Licence holder, or currently working towards accreditation

Attended SSI (Westlock) and Intermediate Signalling Technology IST (Minimum) training courses

Strong and effective communication and presentation skills

Experience in all aspects of design and implementation of Signalling Systems Engineering with focus on preparation and checking of SSI (Westlock) data & Control tables with associated technical details

Experience in Scheme Plans, LAP, Specifications, SSI Wiring, Fringe design, WTS Design production/Checking Either hold or working towards Membership of IRSE, IET or other recognised Professional body Working towards Incorporated Engineer (Ieng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) Status (desirable)
