EY Private Tax is a growing practice dedicated to serving privately held companies and their owners and families, including high-growth private enterprises from start-ups to multi-billion-dollar global entities.
You’ll work on technically demanding tax planning and compliance projects and have opportunities for cross-border and cross-functional teaming. EY supports your development in technical tax knowledge, leadership, and business acumen.
- Researching tax issues to develop effective tax planning strategies
- Translating complex data from a range of sources into client-ready insights and deliverables
- Building long-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs to provide a tailored service
- Communicating complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients
- Maintaining your reputation by updating and sharing technical knowledge
- Managing, coaching and developing a team of tax professionals, reviewing work and ensuring the team has the tools to excel
- Identifying and reacting to risks and opportunities to improve services and processes
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with significant tax, business or financial planning experience
- CPA certification or membership in The Bar
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in professional services or professional tax organization
- Experience with federal and state personal and trust taxation
- Experience with flow-through entities (S-Corps, Partnerships, LLCs)
- Understanding of automated tax processing systems
- Experience with Gift, Estate and Trust tax planning and compliance is a plus
- Commitment to continuing learning
- Excellent collaboration and negotiation skills, with the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders
- Willingness to travel as needed, and ability to work in a balanced hybrid environment
- Proven record in a professional services environment
- Experience in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt your work style to collaborate with internal and client teams
- Tax professionals with a genuine interest in providing outstanding services to influential clients, from C-Suite executives to owners and families, maintaining and expanding EY’s reputation for excellence
- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with salary ranges: $106,500 to $195,100 (and higher in NYC Metro, WA, CA excluding Sacramento);
