Primary
Job Role:
Assist members in obtaining approval by working with loan officers, underwriters, and the closing department. Review applications for completeness at the time of receipt and prior to underwriting. Initiate requests for all documentation needed to support approval.
- Receive loan application after registration.
- Review against loan plan specifications for accuracy.
- Generate loan application (1003, 2900), transmittal summary (1008, 2900 LT, 1802), and appraisal request (2800).
- Review credit report.
- Order and review appraisal.
- Compile case in stack order.
- Enter loan into logs.
- Initiate contact with member requesting additional documentation. Track outstanding documents and follow up with member, loan officer, and referral source.
- Ascertain readiness for loan underwriting.
- Pre‑underwrite case against checklist to identify problem areas prior to submission to underwriting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Knowledge of real estate lending criteria, compliance, and federal/state regulations required.
- Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment typical to mortgage banking.
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
- This position requires the candidate to be energetic and confident, as well as articulate, self‑motivated, goal oriented, and well organized.
Experience: Five to eight years of similar or related experience. Conventional and government loan processing experience preferred.
Education: A high school diploma or GED.
