POSITION ROLE

The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of an organization. This position requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The below description is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities and qualifications expected. Specific duties may vary.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the maintenance of the general ledger and ensures regular ledger maintenance occurs; sets up new entities and updates the chart of accounts.
  • Prepares journal entries to correctly code and record credit card expenses and management fees and other intercompany transactions.
  • Maintains cash schedules to assist in the proper reporting of cash receipts and revenue, cash position and bank limits.
  • Collaborates with the Controller and other finance team members to provide leadership in monitoring the month end close schedule and facilitating month-end close processes.
  • Creates financial statements and necessary supporting schedules to assist with analyzing operations for multiple entities.
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly variance analysis to monitor budget pacing for multiple entities.
  • Participates with external audit(s) through record retrieval and process demonstration for auditors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    To be qualified, the Senior Accountant must have:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, and;
    • Five years or more Accounting experience in a health care setting preferred.


    * This position will be HYBRID with time spent between working Remote and in office in Birmigham, AL*
