Gateway seeks a skilled, organized, energetic, customer service-oriented, and committed professional for a position as a Licensing Specialist in our Therapeutic Foster Care program. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to be a game changer for children and families, in a supportive learning environment that helps our staff and foster parents develop their skills and abilities to the highest levels.

The Licensing Specialist in Gateway's Therapeutic Foster Care program ensures Gateway foster parents receive their licensure as Alabama therapeutic foster homes, meet all the criteria for annual renewal of their licensure as well as maintain all required annual trainings needed for ongoing licensure. This exemplary professional is extremely trustworthy, thorough, and intuitive, looking out for the best interests of Alabama foster children throughout every step of the foster parent licensing and licensing renewal processes.

Qualifications

For this position, an applicant must have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in social work with a minimum of two years of therapeutic foster care experience (not including internships). Must be a licensed social worker (LBSW, LMSW, or LICSW). Must have Good written and verbal skills, be Proficient with Electronic Health Records, email, and Microsoft Office. This job is not an office-based position with much of the work being done in our current and prospective foster homes within the community.

Candidate must have the ability to work daytime, evenings, and weekends as required to support foster parents and programmatic needs. Reliable transportation, clean driving record, and insurance as required by Gateway’s insurer.
