Position Overview

. This is an in‑office role requiring key responsibilities in insurance claims processing, denial recovery, patient account management, and compliance with HIPAA.

$22.00 per hour to $24.00 per hour.

• Process the insurance component of patient obligations through claims processing and payment rules.
• Bill claims appropriately.
• Follow up on denied claims by performing appeals and denial‑recovery procedures.
• Work denied claim lines and no‑response claims to resolve outstanding accounts.
• Analyze credit balances on patient accounts and resolve them.
• Perform insurance verification.
• Handle Medisys and Mextgen systems.
• Respond to refund request letters from insurance carriers.
• Notify supervisor of problem accounts, denied CPT codes, persistent charge errors, and other issues that hinder productivity or collections.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Demographic processing.
• Provide excellent customer service through phone calls and email.
• Maintain high level of time management and organizational skills.
• Generate end‑of‑month reports and lists of all accounts not worked.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Associate degree (preferred).

• At least five years of experience preferred.
• Medical background or prior insurance billing experience desired.
• Experience with Medisys and Next Gen preferred.

• Frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects weighing 0–25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive leg/arm movements.
• Visual and auditory demands for identifying and distinguishing colors and distances.
• Keyboard use and data entry.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and lifting of 10–25 lbs.

Full‑time in‑office; 40 hours per week.
