Part‑Time Licensed Therapist at Hill Crest Behavioral Health provides individual, family, and group therapy and case‑management services on acute and residential units under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services. Assigned cases may vary somewhat depending on experience and specialty areas. Must hold a current Alabama State License. Ability to establish rapport with the interdisciplinary team and assist patients to work toward recovery and sustain health.
Experience on an in‑patient psychiatric unit or residential program is required. Demonstrate knowledge of normal growth and development of the population served.
MUST HAVE availability to attend an 8‑business day orientation from 8a‑4p without interruptions.
Hill Crest Behavioral Health is an acute care, 194‑bed inpatient psychiatric facility located in Birmingham, AL, providing mental health services for adolescents and adults.
- We do not treat medically compromised individuals beyond our scope of care.

- Acute Adults
- Acute Adolescents
- Forensic Adult Males
- Residential Males and Females
- Obtains and assesses social history and reports to the treatment team within program‑specific time frames.
- Initiates and completes new admissions process, discharge process, and after‑care planning.
- Provides and documents discharge planning as directed by the psychiatrist from day of admission.
- Provides and promptly documents individual, family, and group therapy through use of social work and/or counseling knowledge and skills.
- Maintains professional and clinical credentials consistent with duties.
- Contributes to overall treatment team process by assisting in developing plans of care, formulating and reviewing plans, attending treatment team meetings, and providing input as assigned.
- Acts as liaison for patients to various community agencies and resources, collaborating with family members and referral sources throughout treatment.
- Provides liaison and support for patients’ family during hospitalization.
- Responds to and handles crisis situations under the direction of MD or Charge Nurse.
- Consistently demonstrates competence in day‑to‑day scheduling of duties by completing tasks on time with minimal assistance.
- Facilitates therapeutic milieu on units assigned.
- Responsible for the safety and security of medical records of all patients on the unit.
- Coordinates documents, referrals, and discharge planning.
- Attends all mandatory program staff meetings and Director of Clinical Services mandated meetings.
- Attends off‑campus outings with residential program, if assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
