OverviewEY is seeking a highly experienced Senior Consultant Data Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable cloud data architectures using Databricks and Spark on AWS, Azure, or GCP. The role focuses on end‑to‑end data pipeline development, data modeling, and consulting with clients to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and operate scalable on‑premises or cloud data architecture.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Optimize data flows and target platform designs.
- Develop and implement data engineering solutions using Databricks on cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with clients to understand data needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Lead end‑to‑end data pipeline development – ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers.
- Communicate complex data concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Manage client relationships and expectations to ensure high satisfaction.
- Stay updated with latest trends and technologies in data engineering and cloud computing.
- Strategic thinking:
Align data engineering solutions with business strategies. - Project management:
Manage multiple projects with timely delivery. - Stakeholder engagement:
Effectively present solutions to executives and clients. - Change management:
Guide clients through data transformation and technology adoption. - Risk management:
Identify and mitigate potential risks in data projects. - Technical leadership:
Lead architectural decisions that impact project outcomes. - Documentation and reporting:
Create comprehensive documentation and clear reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering focused on cloud data solutions.
- Expertise in Databricks and Spark for big data processing.
- Experience with at least two end‑to‑end data engineering implementations (data lake and real‑time pipelines).
- Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or SQL.
- Knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Excellent problem‑solving and independent teamwork abilities.
- Strong communication and client‑management skills.
- Data quality management.
- Semantic layer familiarity.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data services.
- Data governance & compliance knowledge.
- Machine learning frameworks and tools.
- Competitive salary: $106,900 – $176,500 (USD) base.
