Pay range: $57,940 – $94,150 / year

UAB Health System is transitioning to Epic as our new electronic health record (EHR) platform. This role invites you to work with over 400 professionals in the Health System Information Services (HSIS) team, ensuring the secure and reliable operation of UAB Medicine’s IT systems and infrastructure to deliver quality patient care.

Lead efforts to analyze operational needs and establish requirements and technical standards to achieve enterprise goals. Provide insight on technology configurations and process impacts, while fostering a security-focused environment in line with IT Security Policies and HIPAA and FERPA training.

• Create frameworks for planning, designing, and documenting system functionality and changes.
• Set key standards and best practices to ensure work quality meets customer needs.
• Foster a collaborative approach for system changes and issue resolution by engaging all stakeholders.
• Mitigate systemic risk through build processes, system analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Assist in creating roadmaps for system functionality and timelines for major projects.
• Lead projects across functional teams and business leaders to determine the most appropriate technical strategy.
• Serve as a technical expert on system development, data management, and system support.
• Maintain professional accountability, supporting quality and patient safety efforts aligned with enterprise priorities.
• Build and maintain organizational partnerships, engaging stakeholders to align business knowledge with technical solutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (work experience may substitute).

• Epic certification in area of support or certification obtained within 12 weeks of completing Epic training with no more than two testing attempts.

• Knowledge of PB Charge Router build and workflows. Epic PB and Charge Router Certifications preferred.
