Data Engineer – Regions Bank
Regions Bank is seeking a Data Engineer to support the Data and Analytics organization by designing, optimizing, and developing data pipelines for machine learning and AI models. The role requires collaboration with Data Scientists, Software Developers, Database Architects, and other stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities- Partner with Regions Technology partners to design, build, and maintain data-based structures and systems that support Data and Analytics and Data Product use cases.
- Assist with building data pipelines to collect, arrange, and manage data storage in Regions’ big data environment.
- Build robust, testable programs to move, transform, and load data using big data tools such as Spark and Snowflake.
- Ensure data is prepared, arranged, and ready for each defined business use case.
- Continuously seek opportunities for growing knowledge and skills related to daily tasks.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two (2) years of experience OR a Master’s degree in a quantitative/analytical/STEM field.
- Background in Big Data Engineering and Advanced Data Analytics.
- Experience developing solutions for the financial services industry.
- Experience or exposure to cloud technologies and migrations.
- Prior banking or financial services experience.
- Experience building data solutions at scale.
- Experience designing and building relational data structures in multiple environments.
- Experience with Dev Ops principles, CI/CD, and the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience with No‑SQL databases.
- Experience working with large‑scale data Lake houses.
- Proven record of delivering operational data solutions, including report and model ready data assets.
- Significant experience working with senior executives in data reporting and visualizations to support strategic and operational decision making.
- Strong ability to transform and integrate complex data from multiple sources into accessible, understandable, and usable data assets and frameworks.
- Strong background in synthesizing data and analytics in a large (Fortune 500), complex, and highly regulated environment.
- Strong communication skills through written and oral presentations.
- Strong technical background including database and business intelligence skills.
Pay ranges are job‑specific and vary by experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, location, and performance. The target information for the Birmingham, AL location is:
- Minimum target: $75,912.65 USD
- Median target: $97,700.00 USD
- Incentive pay: Not available for this position.

This position is intended to be onsite in Birmingham, AL, with regular work hours and at least three days a week in the office. Relocation assistance is not provided; relocation costs are the individual's responsibility. This role requires U.S. work authorization and does not sponsor work visas.
