Overview
Consumer Credit Risk Sr Data & Analytics Analyst at Regions Bank. The role focuses on transforming data into a meaningful format for operational and/or decision-making purposes. It involves collaborating with managers to gather and interpret data to support data-driven decisions.
Primary Responsibilities- Creates reports that are valuable, readable, and presentable to stakeholders
- Prepares visual reports/presentations to present analysis to management
- Interprets, analyzes, and provides insights to teams and managers to determine operational impact, trends, and opportunities
- Performs data analysis to help achieve data automation
- Creates and maintains databases to help classify and store information
- Completes day-to-day deliverables and ad-hoc data reports to support business needs/projects and answer data-related questions
- Ensures compliance by performing quality data audits, mining, and management
- Monitors data and analytics trends and seeks opportunities for continuous improvement
- May offer guidance to junior analysts, ensuring proper training and tools are provided
- Partners with the centralized Data Governance team to implement and support data governance and data quality requirements
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements- Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field and four (4) years of experience in a data analytics or related role
- Or, a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or related field and six (6) years of experience in a data analytics or related role
- Experience utilizing analytical software such as SQL, SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, and applicable Microsoft Office applications
- Working knowledge of business intelligence software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
Job Description
This role supports consumer credit risk strategy through advanced data analysis, decision-based strategy development, and exception management, with specific expertise in check holds and deposit risk. The analyst partners closely with Risk, Operations, and Product to ensure strategies balance loss mitigation, customer experience, and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities Include- Preparing the Consumer Bank’s Credit Risk Assessments
- Providing business input into the determination of Risk Appetite and Concentration Frameworks, and Credit Policy
- Monitoring and identifying both internal and external factors that track emerging risks
- Acting as a liaison for Credit Reviews and Audits related to Credit Risk
- Coordinating changes in Credit Policy to implement Credit strategies
- Assisting with pricing and profitability by providing insights and challenge to expected loss, economic capital, probability of default, and loss given default assumptions
