Senior Information Technology Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager with approximately 8+ years of project management experience, including significant experience managing complex IT initiatives from planning through implementation and closeout. This individual must be able to step into an active environment, quickly understand priorities, establish project structure, and begin making an immediate impact. The successful candidate will independently own the scope, budget, schedule, resources, risks, dependencies, and overall delivery of assigned IT projects.

This is a client-side/internal IT project management role. We are specifically looking for someone who has experience developing project budgets and schedules rather than simply managing against a predetermined Statement of Work (SOW), budget, and timeline.

• Lead complex IT projects from concept and initiation through implementation and project closeout
• Develop project charters, objectives, scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource plans
• Independently build and manage detailed project schedules and budgets
• Establish milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and project deliverables
• Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to define project requirements and priorities
• Manage cross-functional teams consisting of IT, business, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Monitor project performance against budget, schedule, scope, and quality expectations
• Identify and proactively manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and constraints
• Develop mitigation and contingency plans when projects encounter obstacles
• Manage project scope and change requests while maintaining control of cost and timeline
• Provide regular project status reporting to IT leadership and executive stakeholders
• Facilitate project meetings and ensure decisions, action items, and commitments are documented and followed through
• Manage external vendors and implementation partners to ensure contractual and project commitments are met
• Coordinate multiple projects and competing priorities within a larger IT portfolio
• Translate complex technical issues into clear business and financial implications for leadership
• Hold project team members and vendors accountable for deadlines and deliverables
• Ensure appropriate project documentation, governance, and processes are maintained
• Lead project retrospectives and identify opportunities to improve future project delivery

• 8+ years of professional project management experience
• Significant experience managing IT projects in an internal/client-side environment
• Demonstrated experience independently developing project budgets and schedules
• Proven ability to manage projects with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, and competing priorities
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including traditional, Agile, or hybrid approaches
• Experience managing project risks, issues, scope, resources, vendors, and budgets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership
• Ability to quickly assess a project, identify gaps, establish priorities, and create an actionable plan
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure Dev Ops, , or similar platforms
