The Birmingham, Alabama, Office of Wicker Smith O’Hara McCoy & Ford, P.A is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2 to 5 years of experience to join our dynamic litigation team. This position will provide a unique opportunity to handle complex cases in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and motions
- Represent clients in court appearances, mediations, and arbitrations
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers
- Develop litigation strategies and work closely with senior attorneys and partners
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills (Writing sample required)
- Strong and extremely meticulous organizational skills
- Experience in Civil Litigation, including deposition
- High academic credentials from a respected law school
- Active license/ In good standing to practice law
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates should also possess the ability to take on significant responsibility and be team-oriented
