Associate Attorney-Litigation; Research & Writing Focus

Belt, Bruner & Barnett, P.C., is seeking an Associate Attorney for a research- and writing-focused litigation role in its Birmingham, Alabama practice. The position is ideal for an attorney who excels at analyzing complex issues, crafting persuasive briefs, and supporting trial lawyers through high-quality research and written work. Belt, Bruner & Barnett, P.C., is a Birmingham-based plaintiff’s litigation firm handling complex personal injury matters of all types, as well as high-stakes insurance bad‑faith litigation.

• Conduct in-depth legal research;
• Draft motions and briefs in a timely and efficient manner, with attention to accuracy, clarity, and persuasion; and
• Assist with and, where appropriate, take primary responsibility for dispositive motions, trial evidentiary issues, and appellate briefing and argument.

• Active membership in good standing with the Alabama State Bar;
• 2–6 years of litigation experience preferred;
• Demonstrated strength in legal research and persuasive writing;
• Experience drafting substantive motions and briefs'
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; and
• Ability to timely and efficiently manage multiple assignments and deadlines.

• Experience in complex tort litigation;
• Federal court briefing experience;
• Appellate or post‑judgment motion experience; and
• Prior clerkship or law review experience.
