Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Underwrites consumer loans up to the amount assigned per Credit Union policy; reviews and approves underwriting decisions of subordinate personnel. Originates & closes real estate loans.
- Hires, reviews, schedules, trains, coaches, supports, counsels, motivates, and monitors the work of branch personnel; conducts performance reviews; allocates resources to meet operational needs within the department; reviews and approves, denies, or modifies department recommendations from subordinates.
- Maintains communications with main office; prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled management meetings.
- Develops and maintains business partner relationships with the community and area schools by calling on potential BPs and coordinating branch participation in community activities.
- Serves as a source of product knowledge and monitors all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Conducts or coordinates weekly meetings with the branch staff to review sales objectives, procedural issues, and member service expectations.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- Maintain a cohesive, highly trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet daily branch demands.
- Provide informed, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
- Maintain or exceed annual budgeted branch operating and growth plan while maintaining or improving the financial stability of the branch.
- Effectively evaluate the efficiency of the branch and develop specific recommendations for improvements to personnel, facilities, products, pricing, policies, and processes.
- Meet or exceed the established branch goals each month and ensure direct reports achieve their individual goals.
- Promote a sales culture within the branch by example. Coach and develop employees to identify cross sale opportunities.
- Ensure recovery of all critical branch functions for business contingency within recovery times set by business constraints or disaster recovery plan.
- Note observations of employees’ performance. Give and receive feedback from employees on an ongoing basis.
- Effective cross-training throughout the branch.
- May serve on various committees such as Roadblock, Risk Assessment, IT Steering Committee, or as a resource for other committees or departments.
Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.

Skills:
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
