Industrial Maintenance Technician

Overview

AMENTUM is seeking a mid-level, multi-craft Industrial Maintenance Technician for our team in Vance, AL.

• Provide an advanced level of mechanical or electrical expertise in performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities for material handling equipment and charging stations in a large industrial environment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and support systems such as drives, control systems, communication systems, gearboxes, and charging units; monitor fleet management software and other supervisory systems.
• Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective electrical and mechanical maintenance.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience performing electrical and/or mechanical maintenance on industrial process/production equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Qualified applicants offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
• Ability to obtain a security access badge at the client’s location.
• May require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive wrist movement may be required.
• Ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.
• Ability to read and understand information contained in documents or on a computer screen.
• Ability to use office equipment and operate a computer keyboard to access databases, send/receive messages, and prepare documents.
• Ability to attend meetings on site and potentially travel to other AMENTUM, customer, and/or vendor locations, with some air travel to distant locations.
• Ability to communicate with others by telephone and in group discussions, meetings, and presentations.
• Fluency in using computers including the Microsoft product line.
• Ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner during periods of stress.

• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other PPE as needed.
• Cope with job-related stress to maintain acceptable performance levels.

• Associate’s degree in industrial technology, industrial mechanical, industrial electrical, or related program.
• Advanced PLC experience including troubleshooting and programming with Siemens S7-300, Allen Bradley, PLC-5, 500, and/or RS-5000.
• Experience with mechanical systems.
• Experience with alignments and timing machines using precision calibration tools.
• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing drive systems, motors, gearboxes, power transmission components, and supervisory control systems.
• Experience using measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, calipers) to set tolerances to OEM specifications.
• Automotive production equipment experience.

• Must be willing to work overtime when required, including holidays and weekends. Schedules may change based on critical business needs.
