Now Hiring Grant Writer

This is a full-time, hourly‑paid position, 40 hours per week.

Position Summary

The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, developing, and writing grant proposals to secure funding from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other grant‑making organizations. The role will collaborate closely with Executive Leadership and staff to gather necessary information, ensure timely submissions, and produce high‑quality proposals. The Grant Writer will also cultivate relationships with funders, assist with reporting, and support broader development activities to strengthen the organization’s mission and programs.

Responsibilities
  • Research potential funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and corporations.
  • Organize and maintain the organization of all grant writing proposals.
  • Develop and write grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and grant reports in collaboration with Executive Leadership.
  • Gather program information, budgets, and outcomes from leadership to craft strong, accurate proposals.
  • Ensure all proposals and reports meet funder requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain a grant calendar, tracking submissions, awards, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with funders and program officers.
  • Provide tours of GKC locations for grant funders when requested.
  • Occasionally visit funder locations to receive grant checks, offer gratitude, or strengthen relationships.
  • Visit GKC sites regularly to understand program needs and communicate the heart of the mission through proposals.
  • Stay informed about trends in philanthropy and grant‑making relevant to the organization’s mission.
  • Participate in weekly and quarterly staff meetings, trainings, and organizational events.
  • Provide content and pictures for social media postings, within grant funder guidelines, to the social media team.
  • Utilize  and Motion.app for streamlined processes and task tracking.
Weekly KPIs
  • Number of new funding opportunities identified.
  • Number of financial grant proposals or reports drafted and submitted.
  • Number of in‑kind grant proposals or reports drafted and submitted.
  • Grant funding secured.
  • Donor engagement and fundraising relationships (site visits, tours, relationship‑building).
  • Growth of GKC and personal presence on Linked In.
  • Google reviews.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of proven experience in grant writing for nonprofit organizations.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong research skills with the ability to identify funding opportunities and synthesize information.
  • Knowledge of grant‑writing best practices and common application formats.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with staff, leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising databases or grant management software preferred.
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Grace Klein Community.
  • Flexibility, humility, and adaptability in a fast‑paced, ministry‑focused environment.
