Pothos Acquisitions partners with established nonprofit organizations to increase community awareness for programs supporting family services, children’s health, and local resource access.
Our Birmingham team runs in-person outreach events at approved retail and community venues, helping residents connect with programs that make a direct impact.
This is an in-person, public-facing role designed for applicants who enjoy speaking with people, working at events, and growing into leadership over time.
Role Overview The Nonprofit Event Support Trainee assists with event operations, public engagement, and awareness activities on behalf of our nonprofit partners.
This is a hands-on role that includes structured training and clear steps for advancement into event lead positions.
This role is: W-2 employment In-person only Not remote Not door-to-door Not telemarketing Not commission-based only Responsibilities Attend scheduled community outreach events in the Birmingham area Engage with attendees and share accurate information about nonprofit programs Assist with event setup, displays, materials, and closing procedures Maintain a positive and professional presence on-site Track attendance and engagement details for internal reporting Participate in training focused on communication, program knowledge, and event operations After training, support new team members and contribute to team goals Who Thrives in This Role You do not need prior nonprofit or event experience, training is provided.

Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with people Reliable and able to arrive on time for scheduled events Positive, coachable, and adaptable Energized by fast-paced, active event environments Experienced in customer service, hospitality, athletics, retail, or student leadership (preferred but not required)
What We Offer $45,000–$54,000 annual pay (W-2, weekly pay) Paid training with structured development Health, dental, and vision benefits available after training Internal advancement into event lead, trainer, or campaign support roles Supportive, mission-focused team culture Work Setting In-person at our Birmingham office and scheduled outreach event locations Local travel to event sites in the Birmingham area (transportation required)
