Job Summary
The Advanced Practice Provider is an advanced practice registered nurse or physician’s assistant with education, training, certification and licensure to provide medical, psychiatric, behavioral and mental‑health care in a variety of treatment settings. The APP will assess, diagnose and treat pediatric patients with behavioral health diagnoses. This individual works in collaboration with the collaborating physician, Division Medical Director, staff physicians, the Director of Advanced Practice Providers, staff nurses and other team members.
EducationMSN, DNP or Post‑Graduate Certificate with specialization as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner required. Graduate of master’s or doctoral level physician assistant program.
ExperienceAt least 1 year of nursing experience required with experience in the subspecialty area preferred.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries- Must be eligible to practice as a nurse practitioner as determined by the Alabama Board of Nursing or as a physician assistant as determined by the Alabama Board of Medicine.
- Current RN Licensure in the State of Alabama for nurse practitioners.
- Current BLS certification.
- Valid PMHNP Certification from appropriate certifying board or certification as PA‑C from NCCPA.
