Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a SICU ICU position with night shifts and every other weekend requirements.
Responsibilities- Position is in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of a hospital
- 12-hour night shifts required
- Every other weekend work required
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1
- Patient population includes stroke, complex post-op surgical, respiratory distress, and COVID cases
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Floating to other critical care areas as needed within skillset
- Special procedures include external ventricular drains (EVD)
- Responsible for managing critical care patients and supporting special procedures like EVD
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary critical care teams
- Scrub color requirements will be specified by the facility
- No on-call responsibilities
- Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
- Active AL or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ICU nursing experience required
- Experience caring for stroke and complex post-op surgical patients preferred
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
