Qualifications
Under general supervision, provide nursing care to patients based on the nursing process, UAB Hospital Standards of Nursing Care, and UAB Hospital policies and procedures while ensuring quality of care. Orient patients and family members to the surrounding environment, acting as a patient advocate. Collect patient assessment data and notify RN of potential problems. Evaluate patients’ response to care and report findings to RN, document the delivery of patient care, respond effectively to emergency situations, demonstrate positive interpersonal skills, meet patients’ educational needs, and serve as a role model to other members of the patientdating team.
