Quality Assurance Technical Inspector

Primary Function

The Aviation Quality Assurance Technical Inspector ensures all aircraft, components, and shop inspections comply with Yulista’s Quality Management System (QMS) and all applicable technical data. The role involves performing visual and physical evaluations, testing and control of parts, products, and raw materials, providing technical assistance, and resolving maintenance problems.

Essential Duties
  • Utilize data collection techniques and procedures for evaluation, inspection, and audit programs, and present results to higher‑level management.
  • Perform statistical analysis (normal distribution, averages, means, standard deviations, trending, root‑cause analysis, etc.) using standard statistical quality control methods.
  • Apply inspection and evaluation techniques, mathematics, and database management skills for root‑cause, deficiency, and trend analysis.
  • Recommend Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs), frequency changes to Routine Inspection Lists (RILs), and corrective maintenance actions.
  • Interpret Air Force Instructions, Technical Orders, engineering drawings, product specifications, AFOSH and environmental standards, public law, and local policy.
  • Evaluate complex systems, subsystems, integrated systems/subsystems, or components for conformance to technical data, engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
  • Conduct reviews, activity inspections, and compliance checks of all maintenance activities including logistics maintenance support, production, programs, mobility, training, plans, scheduling, documentation, and database management as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Ensure personnel have all necessary items to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Review project work requests for completeness and accuracy.
  • Provide accurate weekly/monthly status reporting, metrics, and contractual obligations to meet project performance requirements and customer expectations.
  • Evaluate programs involving electrical, electronic, machining, structures, composites, aircraft, and ground support systems in development, manufacturing, and testing environments.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality practices and procedures as outlined in organizational/departmental guidelines, SOPs, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Evaluate activities of all special processes such as NDI, welding, testing, soldering for internal employees and approved subcontractors.
  • Develop changes in methods, sampling techniques, and control procedures and processes to ensure maximum quality for the customer.
  • Carry out and support audits.
  • Provide professional interface with customer and/or government personnel.
  • Develop briefings for management and define strategies.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. The position has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical principles applying to aircrew egress systems; concepts and application of maintenance directives; and use and interpretation of schematic drawings, technical publications.
  • Intermediate computer skills, specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs; preferred advanced application knowledge.
  • Accuracy in data entry into databases.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Routine report and correspondence writing skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff; routine interaction with other crew members.
  • Effective oral and technical written communication skills.
  • General office equipment proficiency (fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers).
  • Process adherence.
  • Compliance with safety rules and regulations; prompt reporting of all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and unsafe practices.
