Supply Center Sales Representative

East Bay Supply Co. is looking for a Supply Center Sales Representative for Birmingham, AL. This position will have daily interaction face to face and via telephone with customers as well as installers. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service as well as increasing counter sales when possible. The position is a combination of customer service rep, product expert, retail salesperson, inventory specialist, and material handler.

• Process customer orders received from other locations into stock in preparation for pickup by the customer and ensure accuracy and condition of orders.
• Report discrepancies through ASAP database.
• Accept payments on accounts and process cash or credit sales.
• Load material if requested.
• Receive returned material
• Key customer counter orders.
• Pick/Replenish material if as needed.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized work area and facilitate a safe and secure working environment.
• Key and fill stock transfer orders from other branches.
• Receive, post and put away material into inventory.
• Conduct cycle counts and report results to Inventory Control

• Must be able to learn how to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.).
• Good computer, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
• Understanding and experience with cash handling, facility and safety control polices and best practices.

• Must be able to stand for long periods on hard surfaces.
• Ability to twist, stoop, bend and lift up to 70 pounds.

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 1-2 years of experience in retail or warehouse environment with frequent customer interaction.
