Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer – Healthcare Unarmed Patrol in Birmingham, AL
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence and proactive approach will help to deter security-related incidents while delivering outstanding customer service.

- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner to support the well‑being of staff, patients, and guests.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and observe for unusual or suspicious behavior, reporting observations according to Allied Universal protocols.
- Assist with controlling access to restricted areas and help to maintain order within the healthcare environment.
- Work collaboratively with facility staff and other Allied Universal team members to address security‑related concerns and support daily operations.
- Complete logs and reports of patrols, incidents, and other activities as required by site‑specific policies.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
