SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, the Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of the campus and surrounding buildings and their systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance tasks, ensuring the buildings are safe and functional.
JOB DUTIES- Perform routine maintenance: changing light bulbs, cleaning, and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems.
- Make repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general building structures.
- Inspect buildings and systems regularly for potential problems and compliance with safety standards.
- Respond promptly and effectively to maintenance requests.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance tasks.
- Ensure safety compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors and other departments on maintenance projects.
- Document inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Problem‑solve to resolve issues efficiently and maintain system functionality.
- Communicate clearly with employees, staff, and contractors to ensure smooth operations.
Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and at least five (5) years of commercial maintenance experience or an equivalent combination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to diagnose and fix problems efficiently.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to operate equipment safely.
HVAC/Electrical license preferred.
