Inspiritus’ Refugee & Immigrant Services team provides services to refugees and immigrants to guide them on a path from surviving to thriving. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, we provide quality services to newcomers in and around Savannah, Nashville, Birmingham, and Atlanta. Under the direction of the Economic Empowerment Program Manager, the Economic Empowerment Coach will provide direct services to low/moderate-income individuals seeking employment and financial counseling services.

Primary responsibilities include job development, job placement and assisting clients in developing plans of action that are intended to help the client reach their goals and achieve financial stability. The Economic Empowerment Coach will cultivate relationships with employers and with employment-related community resources, including private employment agencies and the Georgia Department of Labor, private and public agencies, and financial institutions as a means of developing resources to best serve clients.

Responsibilities include client recruitment, assessment, and enrollment; financial coaching and career counseling; job development; job placement; resource development; report writing, data management, and case file monitoring. S/he is expected to focus services in a one-on-one counseling format. However, the coach might also conduct classes and workshops on topics such as budgeting, credit building, and banking products. S/he will report directly to the Economic Empowerment Program Manager.

    This is a hybrid position requiring days in-office on a weekly basis.
  • Travel is estimated at 15-20%.
  • Standard operating hours for Refugee Services are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Exact starting and end hours can be discussed and adjusted with direct supervisor.
  • Annual Compensation: $40,000 - $45,000
Responsibilities
  • Initiate and develop group trainings and instructional opportunities to generate program awareness and individual one-on-one coaching for clients.
  • Assess client needs via financial health assessment and develop individual action plans with each client.
  • Provide individualized financial counseling sessions and meet grant outcome goals for the year.
  • Make appropriate referrals and integrate other wrap-around supports (i.e. benefits, tax preparation, specialized employment preparation, job readiness training) into counseling to achieve greater results.
  • Identify and contact appropriate employers who will provide suitable level jobs at market rates in appropriate work sites.
  • Document each employer contact and all employer information in the shared job data bank.
  • Interview clients to assess education, marketable job skills, career goals, and individual barriers to employment.
  • Orient groups of clients to the U.S. workplace and to the local job market.
  • Assist clients (or refer for assistance) with online job searches and applications.
  • Interact with clients to ensure a suitable match between a client and a potential employer.
  • Transport clients to job interviews or arrange alternative transportation.
  • Interpret for clients as required or arrange for interpretation.
  • Maintain program client files.
  • Engage in ongoing follow-up with clients on a predetermined grant-required schedule.
  • Collect, input, track and report required client data using the client management database.
  • Participate in initial trainings and ongoing professional development trainings.
  • Follow required protocol and program requirements.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Meet all grant outcome goals.
  • Help coordinate and integrate services; coordinate program activities with related activities within the department and in other departments to ensure efficiency and economy.

  • Articulate the mission, objectives, and programs of the organization.
