IMMEDIATE HIRING! This is an ON-SITE position located in Birmingham, AL.
External Applicants must have an FAA Dispatchers License. Internal Applicants without a license will start at $47,500/Year;
Air Med will pay for FAA training (5–6 weeks). Once the license is obtained, the salary increases to $52,500/year.
- Safe, legal, and timely planning of all flight legs.
- Consider all legal requirements, such as duty and flight time limitations, in creating flight plans and itineraries.
- Verify available fuel payment options to maximize profitability.
- Monitor weather conditions en route and at each planned stop for acceptability as the trips progress.
- Reserve and brief flight crew on logistical requirements such as airline reservations and hotels for flights requiring more than one crew.
- Secure all overflight and operating permissions.
- Supply all customs documents to crew and coordinate all customs activities with arriving port officers.
- Check all trip manifests against the latest TSA eSecure system information.
- Build trip flight packets presented to the captains and review the details specific to individual flights.
- Check performance information for arrivals and departures when high altitude and temperatures may cause limitations.
- Maintain/renew operating permits.
- Process and ensure compliance with all TSA employee and passenger vetting requirements.
- Research international locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skilled in reading and writing English.
- Capacity to communicate clearly on the radio and telephone.
- Ability to record, transmit, and report information accurately.
- Able to efficiently utilize all equipment assigned.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Possess good typing skills with speed and accuracy necessary to efficiently process emergency and non‑emergency calls.
- Ability to understand basic computer applications.
- Aircraft dispatch experience Part 121 or Part 135.
- Foreign language skills.
- Fore Flight application experience.
