America's Thrift Stores is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Distribution Shipping/Receiving Team Member to join our Distribution Center team!

This position plays an important role in keeping our distribution operations running smoothly by receiving, sorting, organizing, and preparing merchandise for shipment. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and takes pride in maintaining a safe, organized, and productive workspace.

Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with no regularly scheduled nights or weekends!

Shipping & Receiving

• Load and unload merchandise from trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.

• Inspect, verify, and document incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality.

• Sort, organize, package, and prepare merchandise for distribution.

• Label and process outgoing shipments according to established procedures.

• Assist with coordinating shipments to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Warehouse Operations & Inventory

• Organize and maintain merchandise throughout the Distribution Center.

• Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, and replenishment.

• Identify, sort, and consolidate merchandise into designated categories.

• Operate baling equipment and prepare materials for processing or shipment.

• Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, as trained and authorized.

• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.

Teamwork & Safety

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and operational guidelines.

• Work collaboratively with team members and leadership to meet daily production goals.

• Adapt to changing priorities and assist in other areas of the Distribution Center as needed.

• Communicate inventory discrepancies, operational concerns, and progress to management.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent work experience considered.

• Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping/receiving, or material-handling experience preferred.

• Experience operating warehouse equipment is a plus; forklift certification preferred but not required.

• Ability to work efficiently in a physically active, fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with shipping or inventory systems preferred.

• Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently or as part of a team.

• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

This is a physically active position requiring regular movement, lifting, and material handling throughout the workday.

Physical Demands

• Frequently: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach at or above waist level.
