Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a hospitality-focused real estate organization in Birmingham, Michigan on a Contract basis. This onsite role supports the finance team by helping maintain accurate payables activity and timely processing of vendor transactions. The position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with invoice coding, payment workflows, and spreadsheet-based analysis in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices accurately and enter payable details into the appropriate accounting systems.

- Review and assign correct coding to invoices to ensure expenses are recorded to the proper accounts and departments.

- Assist with scheduled payment cycles, including preparing documentation and supporting check run activities.

- Reconcile invoice information against supporting records and follow up on discrepancies with internal teams or vendors.

- Use Excel functions such as pivot tables and lookups to organize data, track payable activity, and identify variances.

- Support daily accounts payable operations for a hospitality-oriented business environment, including restaurant-related transactions.

- Work within platforms such as Toast and Restaurant
365 to maintain accurate records and assist with transaction processing.

- Collaborate with the finance team onsite to help restore timely and efficient accounts payable workflows. Requirements - Experience in accounts payable or a similar finance support position.

- Strong working knowledge of invoice processing, invoice coding, and payment support activities.

- Ability to assist with check runs and maintain accuracy in high-volume transaction environments.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.

- Familiarity with Toast, Restaurant
365, or comparable hospitality and restaurant accounting systems.

- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize daily tasks.

- Availability to work onsite in Birmingham, Michigan, with a schedule aligned to standard business hours.
