Experienced Traffic/Transportation Engineer
Stonefield Engineering & Design is recruiting an enthusiastic and goal-driven project engineer/manager with a minimum of 6 years of experience to join the Traffic Engineering Team. This is a dynamic role offering diverse interaction and opportunities for rapid growth. The candidate will have a strong technical background, interpersonal skills, intellectual curiosity, and a desire for continued growth and learning.
Stonefield provides engineering and consulting services for private developers, universities, and public agencies. We are site engineers and transportation engineers expanding our boundaries and services. We use technology, including geographic information systems and 3-D modeling software, to provide accurate and comprehensible project documents that meet client objectives.
Base pay range: $90,000.00/yr - $/yr
Job responsibilities include:
- Teaching and training entry-level to mid-level designers and analysts
- Preparation of Traffic Impact and Parking Studies
- Intersection Capacity Analyses
- Design of Traffic Signal and Roadway Improvement Plans
- Preparation of Maintenance and Traffic Control drawings
- Creation of Traffic Signal Timing Directives
- Development of comprehensive submissions and applications to jurisdictional bodies
- Project management responsibilities
- Zoning and land development permitting
- Field inspection and preparation of project reports
- Ability to attend and present before technical and lay bodies at municipal, county, and state meetings with proper training
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with traffic engineering capabilities (experience in private entitlement of zoning and site plan permitting is preferred, but not required)
- Proficiency in Highway Capacity Software and Synchro/Sim Traffic
- Ability to work effectively on a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Familiarity with MDOT, ODOT, County Road Commissions and Permitting
