Assistant Tax Accountant

Morson Edge currently has an opportunity available for an Assistant Management Accountant to work on the behalf of our Aerospace clients based in Yeovil, Somerset. This is a full-time position to work on an ongoing contract.

• Act as Assistant Tax Accountant, reporting to the Senior Tax Manager and assisting with the monthly compliance around UK and International Indirect tax reporting and Employer duty compliance for the Leonardo UK Ltd legal entity.
• Support the day‑to‑day tax matters, including VAT and overseas equivalents, PAYE and other ad‑hoc duties.
• Prepare monthly UK and International VAT returns.
• Perform monthly reconciliations on all Employee Benefits in Kind, investigate irregularities and follow up.
• Assist with P11d, PAYE Settlement Agreement calculations, statistical returns and other ad‑hoc information requests.
• Support the annual Short Term Business Visitor Reporting (STBV) requirements.
• Ensure tax general ledger accounts are reconciled and journals posted.
• Liaise and participate with other departments to discuss relevant tax matters.
• Provide ad‑hoc support to the tax team as necessary.

• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Excel and ability to work with complex spreadsheets.
• Some understanding or experience of UK VAT/tax requirements.
• Desirable but not essential knowledge of SAP.
