Senior Accountant Financial Reporting

Our client is a large, multi‑entity UK organisation seeking a high‑calibre Statutory Reporting & Tax Accountant to join their Group Finance team. Reporting to the Statutory Reporting & Tax Manager, you’ll play a central role in delivering high‑quality statutory reporting, tax compliance and technical accounting across the Group, while working closely with senior stakeholders, external auditors and advisors.

You’ll take ownership of the Group’s statutory consolidation, subsidiary accounts and technical accounting papers, ensuring all external reporting is accurate, compliant and delivered to deadline. You’ll support interim and year‑end audits, contribute to audit committee materials and act as a key technical resource for UKGAAP across the finance function.

The role also spans a broad tax remit, including corporation tax computations, deferred tax, ERS returns and maintaining transfer pricing documentation. You’ll support M&A activity through due diligence and completion accounts review, assist with corporate simplification projects, and oversee monthly consolidated balance sheet and cash flow reporting. You’ll also guide an Assistant Accountant across VAT, SAO and international reporting requirements.

• ACA qualified with 1–2 years’ PQE, ideally from a Big 4 audit background or a complex group reporting role
• Strong technical grounding in UKGAAP, statutory accounts preparation and group consolidation
• Experience in corporation tax and VAT, either through audit exposure or time in a tax team
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and advanced Excel capability
• Confident communicator with strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
• Knowledge of IFRS 16 is a plus
