Assistant Manager, Financial Reporting About the Role

You will be responsible for ensuring clients’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner whilst ensuring all opportunities for added value are identified.

  • Assisting in the preparation of more complex statutory accounts and review of disclosures under FRS
    102 and IFRS
  • Assisting with the review of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
  • Assisting with the preparation, review and submission of VAT and employer taxes (e.g., P11D and PSA)
  • Assisting in the preparation or review of monthly/quarterly management reports for a range of clients
  • Preparation of integrated cash flow forecasts
  • Review of bookkeeping duties using Xero, Sage and other accounting software
  • Preparation or review of corporation tax returns and ad‑hoc advice supported by our tax team
  • Client relationship building and maintaining client portfolios
  • Understanding client internal controls and identifying weaknesses, suggesting improvements
  • Performing on‑site assignments/secondments at client premises
  • Ensuring completion of assigned work within time‑budget and deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Continuously improving systems and procedures
  • Assisting, coaching and mentoring junior staff as required
  • Prioritising own work and self‑mandated deadlines
  • Keeping up to date with technical knowledge and changes in the profession to drive best practice in the team
  • Monitoring and adhering to deadlines, ensuring work meets client expectations
  • Liaising with other departments of the firm and staying aware of services on offer
About You
  • Must hold an ACCA or ACA qualification
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in an accountancy practice firm
  • Basic knowledge of accounting packages and statutory account preparation software (ideally Xero and Case Ware)
  • Basic knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and FRS 102
  • Strong time‑management and delegative skills
